Meet the Team
Renovate is comprised of dedicated professionals who have a passion for residential remodeling. They have worked for large companies in the past, but prefer to work for a small company like Renovate where each person is an integral part of the team. We take pride in the work we do and each person on our team understands that the client and the job come first. We are a tight-knit group and we work together to ensure every job is done to our highest skill level. Remodel work is about people – our team and our clients. We communicate, we plan, we deliver
– and we all, to a person, love what we do which shows in the final product.
Amanda grew up in a construction family. Her father worked for decades remodeling homes in San Francisco and Seattle. After spending 13 years overseas on commercial construction projects, Amanda returned to Seattle, founded Renovate Construction, and brought together a team of professionals who love what they do and who bring that energy to each job. Amanda spends as much time as business allows exploring the mountains with her husband, Mike, and their seven-year-old twin girls.
Derek brings years of residential remodeling and design experience along with extreme enthusiasm for the process. He spearheads the team, lines out the work, and communicates constantly with our clients. Derek loves to design remodels that fit clients’ aesthetic and budget. Derek excels at creating custom solutions for every project and working with homeowners to create amazing spaces. Derek is a father of three and enjoys spending his off time with his kids and girlfriend adventuring in the Northwest.

Amethyst recently relocated to Seattle from Albuquerque, New Mexico. In her spare time Amethyst is passionate about singing and cooking. She and her boyfriend love being outdoors and are enjoying getting to know the gorgeous Emerald City.
Mike knows a thing or two about staying safe in the field. As a former combat soldier and Bering Sea crab fisherman, Mike has seen his fair share of dangerous situations. His excellent situational awareness and observation skills help keep our team safe in the field. Mike conducts our weekly safety meetings and safety training, and can be seen at various job sites delivering and picking up the “dump” trailer to help keep our work areas clean and safe for our field crew and our clients.
When Mike is not working, he is teaching his seven-year-old twin girls how to throw the perfect spiral football and leading them, with his wife Amanda, on various outdoor adventures.
Oleg learned construction from his father, working by his side for ten years. He was taught well, because Oleg has the rare ability to understand building and remodeling from the foundation to the final finish details. He is not only himself a highly skilled carpenter, he is also a meticulous Senior Project Manager, which is why he oversees all of our field operations. Oleg’s calm demeanor and quiet sense of humor are much appreciated by our field team and the clients.
Michael has an extremely strong background in carpentry, having worked as a union carpenter for decades. He knows remodeling and his can-do attitude is welcome on our team, as is his excellent sense of humor and wit. He is all business when he’s working and keeps his field team on task throughout the project. For escape from the city life, Michael and his wife like to meet up with family and friends in their travel trailer east of the Cascades.
Chad moved to Seattle a few years ago from Kingston to be with his girlfriend. He grew up on job sites learning the ups and downs of construction from his best friend’s father. Chad has over a decade of experience in construction. When you meet Chad you’ll see that he is full of energy and always ready to work. He is creative and inventive and takes pride in his work. On his off days he loves exploring the outdoors – rock climbing, skateboarding, and finding any way to enjoy the rare sun.
Ben has impressed us since the beginning of his employment with his knowledge and skills. Ben grew up in Seattle and is a rare find – a young carpenter who already has years of trade work under his belt and who loves to build. He started his foray into creating at a young age with his own neighborhood landscaping company. In his off time, Ben likes to hike and rock climb, perfect his machinist skills, and pursue his passion for studying physical and biological sciences.
Ryan is an excellent carpenter with a can-do attitude. His passion for what he does, and his brimming enthusiasm, drives our projects forward. You’d never guess, but before becoming the carpenter he is today, Ryan worked in the restaurant industry and is a highly skilled chef. He made the transition to carpentry several years ago and has worked tirelessly to achieve the mastery of carpentry that he has today. When Ryan isn’t cooking up success at work, he enjoys practicing his epicurean creations at home.
Pro chef tip: Ryan says that his trick for crowd-pleasing deviled eggs is a hint of butter flavoring. We say that the trick to great renovations is a creative carpenter like Ryan.
Tyler makes sure materials are delivered on time and that job sites are clean. He also helps our carpenters with demo and other tasks, as he expands his skills in the carpentry trade. Tyler is always on the move, loading and unloading material from the bright yellow Renovate van and calling the team for his next assignment. When Tyler isn’t helping us keep operations running smoothly, he travels – his most recent trip was to Turkey with his fiancée.
An extremely detail-oriented person and trusted member of the team, Rebecca enjoys working behind the scenes managing accounting and compliance operations for the company. In her “off” hours, Rebecca makes beautiful jewelry in her studio, RAM Mountain Studio, at the base of Mt. Si.
Behind every successful remodeling company is an administrator whose primary focus is supporting the field team. Viana is in charge of all things office related. She places orders, tracks material delivery, and makes sure the team is providing the necessary paperwork in a way that doesn’t interfere with operations. Each week she prepares the detailed invoices for our clients. At home Viana likes to spend time with her husband and family, watch true crime documentaries, and read.
