Meet the Team
Renovate’s team is comprised of dedicated professionals who have a passion for residential remodel. They have worked for large companies in the past, but prefer to work for a small company like Renovate where each person is an integral part of the team. Our team takes pride in the work we do and each person on our team understands that the client and the job come first. We are a tight-knit group and we work together as a team to ensure every job is done to our highest skill level. Remodel work is about people – our team and our clients. We communicate, we plan, we deliver – and we all, to a person, love what we do which shows in the final product.
Amanda grew up in a construction family. Her father worked for years remodeling homes in San Francisco and Seattle. After spending 13 years overseas on commercial construction projects, she returned to Seattle, founded Renovate Construction, and brought together a team of professionals who love what they do and who bring that energy to each job. Amanda spends as much time as business allows exploring the mountains with her husband, Mike, and their six-year-old twin girls.
Senior Project Manager
Derek brings years of residential remodeling and design experience along with extreme enthusiasm for the process. He spearheads the team, lines out the work, and communicates constantly with our clients. Derek loves to design remodels that fit clients’ aesthetic and budget. Derek excels at creating custom solutions for every project and working with homeowners to create amazing spaces. Derek is a father of three and enjoys spending his off time with his kids and girlfriend adventuring in the Northwest.
Oleg learned construction from his father, working by his side for ten years. He was taught well, because Oleg has the rare ability to understand building and remodeling from the foundation to the final finish details. He is not only himself a highly skilled carpenter, he is also a meticulous Project Manager. Oleg’s calm demeanor and quiet sense of humor are much appreciated by our field crews and the clients.
Behind every successful construction business is a hard-charging administrator like Danielle. She is the backbone and glue that keeps the company humming. She is constantly improving processes and making sure the team is keeping up with the necessary paperwork in a way that doesn’t interfere with field operations. She ensures materials are delivered on time and she leads our weekly safety meetings in the field. When she is not working, Danielle can be found cheering on her young kids, who race motocross.
Jesse recently moved his family from California to Seattle, where his wife grew up. This was a truly fortuitous move for Renovate, as Jesse is a gifted finish carpenter who is highly skilled in all aspects of remodeling. Not only does Jesse bring amazing talent to Renovate, he also is a great mentor and leader. Jesse is quick to share his vast knowledge, and his positive attitude and incredible work ethic are inspiring.
Jim is a born creator with unwavering optimism. Jim’s craftsmanship is second to none, and our customers rave about his warm personality and keen insight into projects. On every job Jim comes up with ways to improve the process and the outcome, bringing his many years of carpentry expertise to every detail of the project. When he’s not swinging a hammer and making our customers smile, Jim can be found relaxing and flexing his green thumb gardening at home.
Ryan learned construction in the highly competitive and demanding residential framing industry in California. He is an excellent framer, carpenter, and all-around remodeler. Ryan’s dedication to perfection makes him a favorite of our clients – he loves what he does and his work shows it. He is a quintessential jack-of-all-remodeling-trades and excels at using his expertise to help everyone around him understand the “how” and “why” details that form the backbone of his top-quality projects. Ryan enjoys spending his off time with his wife, young daughter, and his fishing poles near their new home north of Seattle.
Ryan is an excellent carpenter with a can-do attitude. His passion for what he does, and his brimming enthusiasm, drives our projects forward. You’d never guess, but before becoming the carpenter he is today, Ryan worked in the restaurant industry and is a highly skilled chef. He made the transition to carpentry several years ago and has worked tirelessly to achieve the mastery of carpentry that he has today. When Ryan isn’t cooking up success at work, he enjoys practicing his epicurean creations at home.
Pro chef tip: Ryan says that his trick for crowd-pleasing deviled eggs is a hint of butter flavoring. We say that the trick to great renovations is a creative carpenter like Ryan.
Joel makes sure materials are delivered on time and that job sites are clean. He also helps our carpenters with demo and other tasks, as he expands his skills in the carpentry trade. Joe’s experience as a port operator in Bristol Bay, Alaska is a huge asset to the team – we know that when he lashes lumber to the bright yellow Renovate van roof rack it will stay in place. When Joe isn’t helping us keep operations running smoothly, you can find him diligently studying to complete his degree in physical therapy.
